Some turned out well, some could’ve benefited from a better lens, most would’ve benefited from a better technique. Oh well.

The rain really helped visualize the difference in underbody airflow between the prototypes and the sports cars. Rooster tails for days.

I mean if that doesn’t make you want to go inside the fence, I don’t know what will.

Oh DeltaWing, you were so close to finishing.

Not the clearest, but I thought it was a cool picture nonetheless.

Once it got dark you could see the exhaust on this Porsche glow.

This was my first time at Sebring, and it was awesome. I’m definitely glad I went with a friend who had friends with trailers though...the storm during the two hour red flag would’ve been obnoxious out in the open to say the least.

These guys had a scaffold set up at turn 7 as well, so not only did I get a higher view for some awesome pictures, but I also got a bird’s-eye view of the Patron car passing both Corvette DP cars on consecutive laps to take the lead with under 10 min left. What a great race.

I’m a sucker for night photos that show the brakes glowing or ones that look like video games. You’ve done both, nice job.

Allow me to show my ignorance for a moment... What is with the digital numbers on the sides of cars?

Was it easy to get media access?

You got some AWESOME shots

Some don’t even look real!

I was planning on going but couldn’t get off work. Kinda glad though because that rain would’ve ruined my trip!

Yep, it’s position number. Definitely makes it easier to keep track of the race.

Thanks! I made sure to get that day off. I wanted to go to Daytona but it didn’t happen, I didn’t want to miss this one too. The rain just made it more of an experience haha

Thanks! The DeltaWing made it easy with the brake glow. Those things lit up like the sun

Thanks! That sucks, I’d hate to work an event that I’d actually want to participate in.

Didn’t have media access, these were just at general access places around the track. The scaffold definitely helped by allowing higher perspective for some of the shots though

Very nice pics!

What camera setup were you using?

Thanks! Canon 6D, and either a 24-105 f4L or my cheap-ass 75-300 f4-5.6 III

I was thinking about getting myself a 6D... Might save a bit more for a 5D Mark3 though... I seriously need to upgrade my lenses too. My zoon lens is about as crappy as yours albeit a bit more versatile: Tamron 18-270 f3.5-6.3 :)

That 24-105 on the other hand... Would LOVE one :)

24-105 was the kit lens with the 6D. I love it, such a great lens. I only got the 75-300 because they dropped the camera price 2 days after I bought it and they gave me the extra lens to shut me up haha.

I love the 6D and it’s probably more camera than I’ll ever need. The only “weak” part of the 6D (for me, at least) is the AF system. And it’s not that it’s weak, it’s just not as insane as a 61 pt system

Thanks! That is what I was hoping it would be.
